Quadrilaterals: convex and non-Convex, angle sum, construction and properties.

A 'quadrilateral' is the general name for any figure which is constructed using 4 straight sides.

A quadrilateral can be categorised by the length of its sides and the size of its angles.

The quadrilateral family includes squares, rectangles, rhombuses, parallelograms, trapeziums, kites and other less regular shapes.

Convex and concave quadrilaterals

Convex quadrilaterals have diagonals which lie inside the figure.

Concave quadrilaterals contain a reflex angle located within the solid.

Cyclic quadrilaterals

Cyclic quadrilaterals have all of their vertices on the circumference of a circle.

Angle sum

The angle sum of a quadrilateral is 360o.
